Viktor Doria continues to dominate in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu becoming the Two-Time Master World Champion at the 2017 IBJJF Master World Championships held August 24 – 26, 2017. Doria, who earned the Master World Champion title in 2016, continues to dominate in the sport with a stellar repeat performance in Las Vegas.
Organized by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), Doria competed in two different divisions. Starting the tournament in the Master 3 Ultra-Heavyweight division, he placed second after the losing in the final match for one advantage. He later competed in the Master 3 Absolute, which is the most important division in which only the top three of each weight class can participate. Doria won the Master 3 Absolute World Champion Title after four matches. The entire day consisted of eight matches earning two medals: one Gold in Absolute and one Silver in Ultra-Heavyweight.
Victor Doria has been competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for nearly 23 years starting as a teenager in his native Brazil. Throughout his tenure he’s earned the Master World Championship Titles (2017, 2016), World Championship Title in 1999, and Pan American Title in 2004. Doria earned his black belt in 1999.
